Safe Summer, Sad Sentiment
The long hot summer begins soon, more young people out on the streets, sounds of music, laughter in the air, the smell of back yard barbecues, schools out. A few students who leave school may not return for class for one reason or another this fall, some may drop out, enlist in service, sadly, during the summer break, one or more of our young men and ladies will be killed.

Real Issue in Sean Bell Shooting, Fear and Loathing by Police, May Never Be Addressed
In regards to the three New York Police Department detectives acquitted in the [Sean Bell] shooting, I was not there - neither at the scene nor the trial. I can’t judge what might have prompted the officers to shoot. However, on this I can speak: What inner fear or loathing caused these supposedly protectors of the people to react so quickly and to fire so many rounds into the victim? That is the [question] that I wish the news analysts, defenders of the police and the public-at-large to consider.
