(December 3, 2008) - According to the Washington Business Journal, Pepco Energy Services Inc. has scored an energy saving performance contract from Prince George’s County government. The 14-year project should result in more than $4 million in energy savings for county.
The Northern Virginia-based subsidiary of the District’s Pepco Holdings Inc. will provide high-efficiency lighter and water conservation improvements, replace heating and cooling systems with improved designs and install new energy management control systems in seven properties.
Buildings include the County Administration Building, Inglewood Center, Largo Government Center, the Public Works Maintenance Facility, RMS, Hyattsville Justice Center and the Central Communications Facility.
“This project will provide Prince George’s County with new resources and infrastructure that will deliver extensive benefits derived from the energy savings performance contract with Pepco Energy Services,” said Karl Berntson, energy manager for Prince George’s County Government, in a statement. Construction is expected to be completed by next spring.
